ELizabeth is proud to announce that the California School Employees Association (CSEA) has officially endorsed and is supporting her campaign for the Montebello Unified School Board. CSEA is the largest union of classified school employees in the United States, representing nearly 250,000 school support staff across California.
CSEA includes custodians, school bus drivers, food service workers, school administrative staff, library staff, clerical workers, office and maintenance staff, and many more. These frontline workers are essential to the daily operations of our schools.
CSEA is supporting Elizabeth because, under her leadership, the School District has seen significant positive changes. She has prioritized fiscal accountability and transparency. In 2022, the LA County Office of Education lifted its mandate assigning a fiscal advisor to the district. Elizabeth led efforts to update numerous accounting protocols and procedures, ensuring the Montebello Unified School District now operates within its budget. Additionally, the previously troubled bond construction program has been restructured, now with a Bond Oversight Committee in place, and projects are back on schedule and within budget.
Elizabeth remains committed to putting students and parents at the forefront of all her decisions, and would be honored to have your support. We cannot afford to return to the harmful practices of the past—we must continue moving forward.
